Get Your Bike Travel Fix On Route 66

Discover the dream of a bike ride on Historic Route 66 where life really begins at the Route 66 off ramp. Historic Route 66 allows riders to quickly escape to a time before America became generic.

It is the mythology of the open road, the thrill of Route 66 byways, and the road to adventure. A ride on Historic Route 66 means a ride with exciting scenery, and a fun personal road trip. It is your opportunity to experience early roadside USA.

The legendary highway brings riders from all over the world. If your looking for historic there are many vintage motels to stay in and you can eat in vintage eateries. Route 66 has a varitey of culinary stops where you will find everything from snacks to the most classic and elaborate meals.

For those traveling both ways for the entire length of Historic Route 66, four weeks will give you the opportunity to see most everything in both directions. Spring or the fall are the best times to travel. If you go in the winter, you most likely will have a cold ride on the eastern portion and if you go in the summer, riding in the desert is not much fun.

You need to have a helmet, and you should wear it. Missouri requires it, Texas makes you buy additional insurance if you don't want to wear a helmet, and we want you to have a safe trip.
